What files do you need from me to print my job?

In order to print your file correctly we need you to use "package" or "Collect for Output" options found in Adobe Indesign or Quarkxpress. Which will collect all the images, artwork and fonts needed for the particular job. This process is simple and easy. If you are not using Indesign or Quark you will need to make sure that we have every photo, logo and font used to ensure that we print your file correctly.

Indesign Users:

  1. Select the “Package” option from the “file” menu
  2. Preflight will automatically check your document for problems with images, fonts or colors. If any problems exist, you will be prompted to view these problems and asked to resolve these issues.
  3. Reconcile any missing links by relinking the images to the document and opening the missing fonts.
  4. After reconciling the image and font issues, click the “Package” button again.
  5. Check the “Copy Fonts” check box.
  6. Check the “Copy Linked Graphics” check box.
  7. Check the “Update Graphic Links in Package” check box.
  8. Locate where you would like to store your job components. The Save As text area will actually become the name of the folder which contain all fonts, layout and images.
  9. Click the “Package” button. All of the job components will now be gathered into the folder you created. This is the folder you will provide to us.
  10. Submit your job and its components to PrintComm for imaging.

QuarkXpress Users:

  1. Select the “Collect for Output” option from the “File” menu.
  2. Check the “document” check box.
  3. Check the “linked graphics” check box.
  4. Check the “embedded images” check box.
  5. Check the “screen printer fonts” check box. You can also click on collect printer and screen fonts. But beware that QuarkXPress 5.0 does not collect embedded fonts in any EPS vector-based graphics from Illustrator, Corel Draw or FreeHand. 3. A report will be generated as part of the “Collect” process. This report will identify all of the job components and the document specifications (i.e., fonts, graphics, styles, colors, etc.). 4. Enter a report name in the “Report Name:” dialog box.
  6. Click the “Collect” Button. All of the job components, except the fonts, will now be gathered into the folder you created. This is the folder you will provide to us.
  7. Submit your job and its components to PrintComm for imaging.
