Adobe Acrobat® Settings
You Can Use To Create PDFs

Adobe Acrobat is a great program that allows you to create PDFs from just about any program you use. From page-layout programs to Microsoft Word, you can create high resolution PDFs ready to be printed at PrintComm. Although some programs, such as InDesign and QuarkXPress, allow you to create PDFs within their applications, we still recommend you follow the bullet points below, if your program allows you to enter this information, to ensure your PDFs are created correctly.

If the program you are using gives you the opportunity to change or select certain settings for creating PDFs, please use the information below as a guideline:

  • We set our resolution for PDFs to be 2400 dpi.

  • Our linescreen is set at 400 lpi.

  • Images placed in your document are created
or scanned at a resolution of 300 dpi.

  • NO RGB images. All color images are placed
in the layout program as CMYK images.

  • Embed all FONTS used in your document.

  • Black and white or grayscale images should not
    be created using CMYK values.

  • Create your PDF at actual size.
